NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - 2021 Top Ten - Bill & Ted vs. Jeff & Geena

 NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 50: Bill & Ted versus Jeff & Geena (Top Ten Discoveries of 2021)

Skimble may be changing into a fly. He already lacks an ear.

This past Christmas, ThePoeticCritic spent an hour with her little brother Cool Movies Darth to help comprise a list of NinetyForChill's best discoveries of 2021. Her movie research is not as narrow as this podcast's host, but she chooses five movies that will make the list. It is up to CM Darth to determine which five of the remaining 15 films will make for a well balanced countdown.

ThePoeticCritic did spend Christmas Eve and Day at her source of income, so she was not in a playful mood to try and draft a list. So instead of a "her pick, his pick" game, she offers some analyst of how her brother is choosing this list. The challenge for CM Darth becomes how not to offend previous guests by dismissing films they came to the show to praise.

It pained him, but there is a chance that "John Dies at the End" falls from number two to oblivion. My apologies Kodiak, but in a way, it seems fitting.

David Cronenberg's "The Fly", European, animated family feature "Nocturna", Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", Robert Zemeckis's "The Polar Express" and the Hammer horror feature that started the modern take on classic monsters, "Dracula (aka Horror of Dracula)" are TPC's choices. These are the remaining features CM Darth has to choose from:

  1. Bill & Ted Face the Music
  2. You're Next
  3. Lady Snowblood
  4. John Dies at the End
  5. Vicky Cristina Barcelona
  6. Bit
  7. Castle Freak (1995)
  8. Death Race 2000
  9. Hellraiser
  10. Nighthawks
  11. Risky Business
  12. Rushmore
  13. Spiral: From the Book of Saw
  14. Teddy Bear
  15. Waiting for Guffman

And Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy's Trash Features Revue offers a post recording variable. Does the gangster feature with Jena Malone and Joe Mantenga is supporting roles, "10 Cent Pistol", sneak into this top ten list. Does completing the computer alphabet (A to #) by featuring this flick catch CM Darth off guard?

As a struggling screenwriter, he is empathetic to actors JT Alexander and Damon Alexander along side writer Michael C. Martin putting everything on the line to get this feature made.

If you think you have a film or franchise that you are an expert on. Send an email to russthebus07@gmail.com. Most franchises have at least one feature that will qualify for NinetyForChill. The runtime just needs to be between 74 and 99 minutes. We have four episodes to fill.

I have been asking for weeks for assistance in composing an episode dedicated to vampire features like "The Lost Boys" trilogy, "Near Dark", and the "Underworld" movies. Here is to hoping that this bunch of critiques will stir up some inspiration in my audience to step up and hold off on the garlic. If this is a topic you up for discussing, feel free to send an email to russthebus07@gmail.com. All I need is a half hour on Zoom to get this done.

I hope I am impressing or at the very least amusing you with this podcast and I am open to any and all criticism. My biggest want is more guests and more suggestions on what to chat about (@catbusrussrussthebus07@gmail.com@coolmoviesdarth). If we can get 3 hours out of "Little Nicky", the possibilities are endless. Thanks for visiting.

After WrestleMania Backlash, I will tell you that we need to take zombie pro wrestling back. My suggestion is that we finally get my low-budget zombie movie, "Main Event of the Dead" off the ground. The script lacks a lumberjack match, so you know it has got to be better than the "Army of the Dead" advertisement. Ask for a treatment or give me suggestions on how to get it to a crowd-sourcing stage with an email to russthebus07@gmail.com.

Tits As a Metaphor and 90-minute Discoveries of 2021: R to Z

*This blog post was started on December 21, 2021.

Time is not on my side when it comes to publishing blogs before the year ends. Am I really expected to be posting while I am in Disney World, hopefully?

With omicron (Am I the only one having fun learning the Greek alphabet during the pandemic?) becoming the dominant variant, ThePoeticCritic's paranoia about this family vacation going tits up maybe warranted. I say this because our younger sister is an elementary school teacher whose husband just got over a break through case of delta. She may want to call the trip off.

What I fear is that because she is the only one of my siblings who has not been to England (something she brings up when she wants to get on our parent's tits), her daughter will do the same thing to her if the trip gets cancelled. "Big Brother got to go when he turned five, but I couldn't." It is justice that she act the same way as her mom, but no one should be acting like her mom (at least the version of her mom that had yet to graduate university).

Of course, if you listen to the impromptu episode on "NinetyForChill.com - The #Podcast", "Buddy the Elf and His Zombie Diary", my big sister states how it does not look good that I will get the opportunity to build a light saber at "Galaxy's Edge". I hate to get all schadenfreude, but if I must suffer, maybe all should. Let it be known fate, that is a joke, not an attempt to tempt you.

The biggest problem with a cancelled trip is that my vacation time will be used up on the first week of January. It would make my attempt to succeed in my annual resolution to eat something Buffalo (sauce)-flavored every day easier, but my cats can only stand so much of me not having anything to do. Do not doubt that. They are cats. I do not need to get on those six sets of tits.

As I type this, my manager is telling me about the plans they are making with their classmates to go to Destin, Florida to celebrate their 40th birthdays. It may be the time to look for another job if my Floridian adventures get canned and theirs do not. We already have the disconnect which lead to a pro-worker diatribe on my annual self-performance evaluation. At least we are talking since I sent that rant.

At this moment, I am just disappointed that I have only used tits three previous times in this post. After the second use of it, incorporating the word into the title would have been a wacky way of talking about the remaining features that I discovered this year for NinetyForChill.com - The Website. Which movies are totally tits?

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - "You're Next": A #Movie and A Call for Guests

NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 48: "You're Next": A #Movie and A Call for Guests (Not a Threatening Invitation)

Films Researched for this Podcast: You're Next (2013); Nocturne (2016).

Cannot cover Skimble's cuteness with a mask

Cool Movies Darth's plans for one horror movie podcast fell through, but fortunately you can rely on Lionsgate and Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy's Trash Features Revue. This week, CM Darth takes a look at Adam Wingard's cult classic, "You're Next" and revisits the even lesser budgeted "Nocturne" from 2016.

It was a pretty frantic week. I had scheduled a recording just before I was to head back home to pick up ThePoeticCritic to attend my third Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, but life being what it is, that guest had to postpone their appearance. As for the TPC, she did not really infer any direction by me bringing the podcasting equipment, so we do not have any material from the convention. Granted, her activities kept her to the floor, so it is not like there was any panel information that she could provide. Imagine her rage if I told her Giancarlo Esposito's next franchise he wants to take a part in is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His strong points be damned.

We did attend "Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live: The Time Bubble Tour" at the CIBC Theater. It was a pretty good live show. I think their sketch segments may have been superior to the time I saw them perform with Joel Hodgson. The riffing of the feature may have even been stronger. "No Retreat, No Surrender" is a more ridiculous (yet grounded) feature, so this Roland Emmerich knock off of Steven Spielberg needed the MST3K cast to be on their A-game. If anything was disheartening about this show, it is the realization that Emmerich is an overrated hack.

Because this episode only focuses on two features, I did my best to edit it so that I could get in under the 15-minute YouTube cap. This means that a fair amount of my emotional ramblings about my C2E2 experience being one of feeling alone in a crowd had to be cut. With that, so went the individual thank yous to all of my previous guests. Sorry about that, but as you can see, I only had a second to spare.

I really need to apologize for my lack of gratitude. For the most part, this podcast is the only guaranteed socialization I have. Sorry that I lack Tuxedo Mask cosplay, but how do you not seem weird at a "Sailor Moon" fan meet up with a "Captain N" jacket or a Charlestown Chiefs sweater?

This episode closes out with my review for 2016's "Nocturne", a seemingly beloved z-budget feature. I have described the premise to a few people, and they thought it sounded interesting. It is a part of Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy's Trash Features Revue, and for the most part, quality is lacking. "You're Next" is an exception. But, "Nocturne" was featured on a bonus episode, so this podcast officially adds it to the cannon of NinetyForChill.com: The Podcast.

Top #Movie Discoveries from 2021 for NinetyForChill: Justice to Rabid

*This blog post was started on December 8, 2021.

Why is it that Blueberry Red Bull is the only flavored version that I can find anytime of the year? Why is it pomegranate for this years holidays? I have never seen pomegranate sauce at the feast. How would they sell that anyway? This "What's the deal with" bit is going to result in me Googling all of these questions, and I will just end up falling behind again.

Right now, I am in a state of restlessness, and with the "Ready or Not" podcast to record tonight Red Bull is a necessity. Will I miss my nephews birthday because of the lack of sleep? The kid is still in grade school, so I might just make it in time tomorrow. But if I do just that bit of rushing, will I have the energy to venture into Downtown Peoria? Is that going to be forbidden since I am driving my older sister up to C2E2? Dad may want to get out of the house, but irresponsibility should not lead to a chauffeur.

But he is a Duran Duran fan. Sing, Blue Silver.

With my busy schedule and sudden Tinder popularity, I guess we can blame the flirtations instead of my computer issues for my set backs. There has not been too much time to think outside of my podcast. Even with C2E2, my podcast setup must be ready. My big sister was not a fan of dragging the boom mic and other accessories while I parked the car when were at Wizard World.

It could be a great editing experience. Why not use my Zoom P4 and my laptop if I can talk someone into record?

As for the blogs, 2021 still needs to be wrapped up, and the podcast has made it so there are twice as many movies to cover. With that said, lets continue my work on this years best of list.

2021 Discoveries for NinetyForChill.com:
"Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" to "Rabid"

Honorable Mention: Pumpkinhead

I hate to remove Lance Henriksen from contention to advance to the best 20 from the breakdown thus far, but "Pumpkinhead" is more of a effects man trying to prove their worth. Henriksen makes that feature because no one else is worth remembering except him. It is a pretty straight forward mystical revenge narrative. The monster, Pumpkinhead, is effective is scaring us, but without traditional slasher victims, it is not really allowed to do much.

Winston's offers up an ideal ninety minute movie, but it is not the best feature I saw this year by any stretch of the imagination. It is easy to argue that it is better than "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" or "Laid to Rest", but they are far more outlandish and rewatchable, one for the comedy, the other for the ridiculous violence.

I guess it just comes down to ranking the final 10.

Thanksgiving and #Movies to Distract from the #Racism

*This blog post was started on November 26, 2021.

I hope everyone has had a good Thank the Naive Natives for Giving their land to us holiday. This year, we had our first political argument, and I am proud to say, as the only uncle present (My brother-in-law supplied the only kids.), the instigator was not me. At least I hope that is how it is remembered. The parent I call to check in on may need to be the one who did not try to encourage Kyle Rittenhouse suing the president for defamation because he was accurately called a white supremacist. If the video showing him embracing Proud Boys was not shown on Fox News, it could not have happened, is their logic.

The last time that parent was called out for being racist, they took a week to collect their thoughts and come up with a story of why the other parent wanted to cut me off for standing my ground. If they remember Thanksgiving correctly, they will know it was my nastier younger sibling who lead the charge. I may have backed their facts, like the other parent would if their spouse was flailing despite a valid argument, but I had learned not to offer a counter proposal instead of leaving them feeling betrayed.

If anything, this should have inspired me to try and pursue money over happiness just so I shan't be afraid of pissing them off. That is the lesson or I just need to knock some girl up so I have a grandchild to hold as collateral. Either angle does not seem fun. Since I am staring down $15 an hour and a month to get at least one shag in this year, neither seems feasible.

I know the standard tale of the holiday season kick off is the uncle to start strife at the holidays, but how are you suppose to handle things when its the host being close minded? If you follow my blogs, I am thankful for that and I presume you know who I am talking about. If that is the most pressing memory, the "Due Date" review I inferred in "@WWERomanReign at Least Ranks Higher than Kyle Rittenhouse" that I would transcribe at some point would be posted, is not going to be this blog.

So what to write about this week? I did not mention professional wrestling till the last sentence. My ranking for that sport seems to be a little too fresh. I suppose I could just focus on women's wrestling, but the year is winding down. With that said, my immediate concern should be ranking the movies of "NinetyForChill.com - The #Podcast". There are still some movies I need to watch before this year ends, but when I am dealing with scores of movies too judge against each other, best to get this exercise started now.

NinetyForChill - The #Podcast: XMas Deathmatch - Dudley vs. Goldberg

NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 46: Eva's Xmas Deathmatch: Dudley (Moore) vs. (Bill) Goldberg

Films Researched for this Podcast: The Ref (1994): Waiting for Guffman (1996); The Polar Express (2004); Santa's Slay (2005).

Can Eva get a Humbug?

ThePoeticCritic is back and focused to start spreading that Christmas cheer. She fondly looks back on the holiday offerings that bring joy to the world indiscriminately while Cool Movies Darth focuses on the cynical side of the season with films like Dennis Leary in "The Ref" and Bill Goldberg in "Santa's Slay". What they can agree on is that their should be no seasonal restrictions on when we can watch "Ernest Saves Christmas".

Aside from the Christmas Days and Eve we end up working on (holiday pay > politics at the kitchen table), almost all of our Christmases have been spent together. Neither my sister or I can recall having any bad ones. Thus, it is interesting that we are pretty far apart on when it comes to measuring our holiday cheer.

ThePoeticCritic has fond memories of Rankin Bass holiday specials and HBO children's fare like "The Snowman" featuring David Bowie. For me, the wholesome Christmas be all end all is "Mickey's Christmas Carol". With our mutual admiration of Don Bluth's "The Small One", should we not just cap the holiday feature length at 30 minutes?

As for the 90's, when we were both in our teens, I think we just did not care at the cash grabs that are Santa-exploitation, or the mutilation of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. She somehow skipped out on the "Santa Clause 2" when we went to see that over the 2002. I think that was kind of a shame since any Xmas movie is improved with Judge Reinhold ("Gremlins" and "The Santa Clause").

The two of us talk about the decline of Christmas movies in cinema (I now hate that I did not realize that the blame should have been placed on Reagan.) and how weird IP adaptations like that of "The Polar Express" (which only lacks because Tom Waits was not the hobo, or all of Tom Hank's characters) and the two "Grinch" related productions of the 21st century. We also seem to not have been as overly impacted by "Elf" as most people seem to be. At three and five in 1983, "A Christmas Story" was our goofy tradition.

And I think our childhood (media) kicked your childhood's (media) ass. Perhaps we do tear into a "Hocus Pocus" again. Let me just say, the recording on the Zoom P4 came out pretty well, so listening to it from beginning to end did not happen. It was a crazy weekend (5 hours at the bank, 15 hours at the retailer) for me, and if we want to get from A to Z (and for a computer nerd, numbers), I needed to get the letter W out of the way when it came to "Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy's Trash Feature Review".

This week is actually another classic with Christopher Guest's "Waiting for Guffman". It is a improvised comedy that only lacked a Rob Reiner from being on "This Is Spinal Tap's" level. Who cannot help but love the mockery of flyover states from the finest thespians America has to offer?

With that said, community tends to associated with the holiday season, and my big sis and I bring up movies that are set at Christmas and/or associated with the season. These are not Christmas movies, but you tell the masses that they should not be watching "The Wizard of Oz" in December.

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - ThePoeticCritic Down Under

NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 45: ThePoeticCritic Down Under

Films Researched for this Podcast: Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981); Resident Evil: Extinction (2007); Jolt (2021); Into the Dark: Tentacles (2021).

Eva Eva Eva, Oi Oi Oi

In time for "Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City", Cool Movies Darth revisits Russell Mulcahy's "Resident Evil: Extinction". This Australian-helmed feature allows him to pick the brain of ThePoeticCritic who offers some insight into Australian Exploitation cinema. The most highly regarded of these features being "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior". She is fine with George Miller's efforts but has a fascination with exploitation.

Pardon the lack of "Bluey" love in this episode, but NinetyForChill.com is all about killing canines to progress a narrative.

This is the lost conversation with ThePoeticCritic from two months ago. The dead puppy tangent that I introduced here to compare "Mad Max 2" to other great, brutal action movies was something that I felt needed to be further elaborated on. Patron saint of the podcast Stuart Gordon has a penchants to kill cats in his horror movies (and lovable ants in his family fare), the scale must be balanced.

This is a shorter episode because there was probably too little time for my sister and I to get on the same page since our From Dreamy Nocturna to A Nightmare on Elm St. episode. I believe this was when I was trying to arrange a chat with Andras from the "Ta2squid Podcast". Unfortunately, my failure to remember how time zones worked sank that proposed episode. On the flip side, needing to spend a Hot Topic coupon did introduce me to the awesomeness of stinger jeans.

So it takes sometime to get this episode rolling, but once I asked her opinion on whether or not Russell Mulcahy is nothing more than a George Miller wannabe, her cinematic knowledge starts flowing. I am glad that the editing process allowed me to be reintroduced to her documentary suggestion, "Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation!".

This does bring us back to the 1980s. We recall seeing "Labyrinth" for the first time, and me being confused about David Bowie until he spoke in his role as the Goblin King. I swore that was the same villain from "Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome". It was the mid-80s, Tina Turner was everywhere.

This leads us to a conversation about how David Bowie was supposed to portray Max Zorin. When he turned it down, the role was taken up by Christopher Walken in perhaps his least Walken performance. TPC suggested that I dive back into the "'80s All Over Podcast" to find the story behind that confusion. I will withhold that plunge until I see how Part 2 of the "James Bond Screen Drafts" plays out. Drew McWeeny did not allow "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" to be in the top five. My trust in him maybe lost.

In all fairness, this podcast is not going to be Ozploitation heavy. I do bring up a couple of the movies that I knew the Ta2squid team had discussed. One of those features is "Jolt", an Amazon Prime Video Original action movie starring Kate Beckingsale. It left me perplexed to why she is allowed to speak with her natural accents while the rest of the cast (except for David Bradley) has to Americanize their. If you listen to the "Australian 21st Century Screen Draft", the drafters might have explained the charm (or lack there) of Jai Courtney.

Another feature that I had watched that was inspired by Ta2squid was "Into the Dark: Tentacles". It is not Lovecraftian. It is not hentai. It is...made for TV.

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - "Bill & Ted" Face an Explicit Podcast

NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 43: "Bill & Ted" Face an Explicit Podcast (Please Pardon the Language and 10 minutes of Apologies).

Films Researched for this Podcast: Valley Girl (1983); Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989); Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991); Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020).
Where are the phonebooth filters Snapchat?

Michael Dubois comes back to the podcast to discuss the most excellent trilogy when it comes to doing fan service right, "Bill & Ted". If only Disney had thought about giving "The Rise of Skywalker" to Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters, the galaxy would be what Rufus and Kenobi would consider tranquil. What is there not to like about these films? There is casual homophobia in the first two, but it is fleeting and these films course correct perfectly as they go along. But because of the language used, Cool Movies Darth deemed that this episode's conversation should be left uncensored.

There are other flaws to point out about how the first film's historical figures are predominantly male and white (with token Joan of Arc portrayed by the most successful of the Go-Gos, Jane Wiedlin), and the second feature states that we are clearly in a Christian reality. I guess you can say that music is kind of lacking in the franchise's conclusion, but that is better than faking it to a bad Kiss track.

If there is anything that I am upset about, it is that when I started researching on how thorough my self censorship would need to be, I found that most of the podcasts that have R-Rated language classify themselves as clean. These are smart shows, so I would like to think that their audiences can handle them, but "ID10T", everything on the Ringer Podcast Network, and "How Dig This Get Made" have audiences despite the acknowledging the explicit content.

Here is to hoping that my being upfront is the middle ground. The cursing starts after the 10-minute mark.

The two of us go on for nearly two hours focusing on the films and how they relate to us. It is nice to get the perspective of someone who was born after the first two films were released opposed to I who was ready to go to the theaters to check them out on day one. All of this means that we do talk about some politics, but it was not hard to get on the same page and I look forward to the next time the two of us record together.

Here is hoping I like "Ready or Not". What is Michael's thing with Samara Weaving?

And since San Dimas's accents sound a lot of which came from the valley, I felt it was appropriate to return to Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy's Trash Feature Reviews. Nicolas Cage finally graces this podcast with his excellent performance in "Valley Girl". This film is the true bridge between "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Say Anything". It may be the finest time capsule for this decade.

SkimbleSHANKS presents "Event Horizon" with Kodiak Thompson

Films Researched for this Podcast: Hellraiser (1987), Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988), and Event Horizon (1997)

Episode 41: SkimbleSHANKS presents "Event Horizon" with Kodiak Thompson.

The Sights Skimble Has to Show You.

Kodiak Thompson returns to the podcast to talk up Paul W.S. Anderson's attempt to combine "Alien" and "Hellraiser", "Event Horizon". Cool Movies Darth and his guest go over the most memorable video game features the auteur was behind as they try to figure out how this Lawrence Fishburne lead feature was Anderson's biggest financial bomb despite being his most original and impressive concept. It gets sad when you find out how much CG effects that look bad in 4K cost in 1997.

We obviously took a trip down memory lane with this feature being 24 years old. This haunted house in space is Anderson's second American directorial effort. He would go on to direct "Soldier" (which we failed to mention despite our swooning over Sean Pertwee) the following year, but otherwise, there is a 16-year gap between him working on projects that are not established IP (17 if you include the "Blade Runner" references in the Kurt Russell feature). It easy to thickly lay on the scrutiny of his talents with that resume.

Computer generated effects do not hold up from these turn of the century features, but that is not his fault. HDR just shows the seams. It may explain why he is an expert when it comes to 3D features. You cannot care to look at every detail if it flying at your face.

His talent comes from realizing his vision. When I say vision, it is solely what you see. As for stories, his 500 batting average with his "Resident Evil" franchise gives a warning of where he may come up short.

"Event Horizon" features his best ensemble and they are aware of the feature that they are making. It has moments of levity, but the actors do an extraordinary job at maintaining the film's tone. The film also earns bonus points for overlooking standard horror movie tropes and letting Lawrence Fishburne be the lead actor of this ensemble.

Despite what Screen Drafts's Co-commissioner Ryan Marker will have you believe, Sam Neill does a great job as the antagonistic scientist going mad. Kodiak and I dive into the concept of whether or not Dr. Weir knew where he was sending the faster-than-light spacecraft the film is named after. Was he no different than Uncle Frank from "Hellraiser"?

With the Clive Barker film serving as inspiration (Kodiak was up on his research.), I took the time to watch the first two films in the "Hellraiser" franchise. Those reviews are featured on this podcast.

Here is one last warning before heading into the last spooky pod of October. We both offer incites on Sean Pertwee, son of the Third Doctor Who. I go on about how Pertwee is not only a comforting face, but a great casualty to add to any feature. This leads me to do my best in selling Neil Marshall's "Doomsday" to his queue.

NinetyForChill -The #Podcast: SkimbleSHANKS presents Wise Draculas and Dim Harkers

Films Researched for this Podcast: Dracula a.k.a Horror of Dracula (1958), Dracula (1979), and Bit (2020)

Episode 40: SkimbleSHANKS presents Wise Draculas and Dim Harkers.

Dapper Skimble

Fresh off of an endorsement from "The ID10T Podcast", Cool Movies Darth (yours truly) and ThePoeticCritic continue the spooky season with a couple of "Dracula" movies. We compare, contrast, and celebrate Christopher Lee from "Dracula" 1958 and Frank Langella from "Dracula" 1979. It is Hammer Films vs Universal Studios and a John Williams score. Which is better?

This pairing made for an interesting drunken double feature. It also taught me how to arrange a double feature. You want to end on a positive note, so follow the Tomatometer. In this case, "Horror of Dracula" should have closed out my viewings for the night.

So I came into this podcast with the impression that Christopher Lee was the end all and be all of vampiric kings. The director of "Short Circuit" and "WarGames" did not offer Langella the opportunity to make a run at the crown. Who had the most inept Jonathan Harker is the only competition between the two. Sounds like Keanu Reeves was perfectly cast for Coppola's take on the tale.

Aside from finally adding some sexuality to English language bloodsuckers, 1979's take on Bram Stoker does not capture the charm of "Horror of Dracula". Hit and miss special effects do not help.

Do not even get me started on the 1992 revisions of it. I will no longer (not that I have as a member of the Church of Lucas) complain about George Lucas's special editions.

I would say the two of us were pretty much on the same page when it came to these feature. So this was a pretty easy rundown of the questions that I found to be important. It may have been so copacetic because we did not have to pull from the current cinema scene to make conversation. You best appreciate that we did not go all Team Scorsese on you.

But, if you feel that we spend too much time in the past, I treat you to a brisk review about 2020's "Bit", a vampire comedy that earned a lot of accolades at queer film festivals. The story is a lot like "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles" but throws in a feminist take of the mythology and I cannot help but love the nihilism that comes with bloodsuckers.
